Somewhere, on a riverbend with a deep hole, the October Caddis hatch is on and the trout are rising.

Standing in the water, casting a fly rod, ever-present in the moment, is my friend Frank.

He gets a take, sets the hook, and laughs contagiously. He's done it a thousand times, but it's the best ever, just like the time before.

Last month, I lost my friend hours after having beers and making fishing plans. He was really something special, and I'll always remember him.

We made plans to check certain fish off his fishing bucket list and those plans will be kept. A special rod dedicated to Frank is up to the task.

Cheers to many more fish and adventures in his honor.

This client loves to fish, and she's wanted to get more into fly fishing. Seven years ago, she was gifted a fly rod, but had yet to catch a fish on it. On her full day guided trip, we did a casting lesson on land before hitting the river. Shortly after, she landed this beautiful cutty!
