It’s National Transfer Student Week and Princeton is celebrating our growing cohort of transfer students.

This year, 36 transfer students joined the undergraduate community, which represents the largest group of incoming transfers since the program’s reinstatement in 2018.

Of the 36 students, 23 have served in the U.S. military and 26 matriculated from community colleges, such as Mercer County Community College, Rowan College at Burlington County, Bronx Community College and Suffolk County Community College in New York.

In 2022, Princeton announced a multi-year increase in its transfer program, which is aimed at enrolling more undergraduates from first-generation, lower-income, military or community college backgrounds: https://bit.ly/3Yfeb7F

“A larger transfer program helps make Princeton better reflect the complex society in which it is embedded, and its students will in turn enhance the campus experience for everyone,” said Keith Shaw, Deputy Director, Emma Bloomberg Center for Access & Opportunity.

Once enrolled, students and their families are supported through the Emma Bloomberg Center. Examples include:
➡️ Princeton’s generous no-loan financial aid program.
➡️ Transfers attend a week-long pre-orientation program that helps them and their families get settled at Princeton.
➡️ All first-year transfers are part of the new Transfer Mentor Program that pairs them with a peer mentor to help them successfully navigate their first semester and beyond.
