…..cannot justify picking up pau hana or late night ahi slab to make poke or sashimi pupu…or grill.

Choices: can get your own, 🎣 holoho, get from your fisherman fam/friends/neighbors, get from local fish markets, boats selling at the harbors, or can go to the roadside fishermen…directly, or close as possible, from the source.

As close to self-sustainability as can be is the way to live nowadays.

Kilauea Lighthouse was commissioned as the Kīlauea Point Light Station on May 1, 1913. Pano from 2014. Have you visited this?

52 foot tall, it has a Fresnel lens reaching 22 miles at sea. The original light source was a kerosene lantern providing 250,000 candlepower, eventually replaced by a quartz iodine lamp putting out 2,500,000 candlepower.

Kilauea Point is a National Wildlife Refuge, a natural habitat for seabirds like the red-footed bo***es, the wedge-tailed shearwaters, and the red and white-tailed tropicbirds.
