With the 1st half of the season over with now and the rest of the season already booked up, I guess I will drop some photos from some of the hunts so far!!

Went out yiesday and mowed the rds and flagged where our a frame blinds will be during the season as well as mowing about 2 acres down around the main blind.
Just a few more finishing touches and this blind will be ready for the season. 1st hunt will be this Saturday since theres quite a few species seen while working out there!!

High water this spring eroded the bank pretty bad and took the river blind downstream about 90 yrds!!! Thanks to some help from Mike Thompson we were able to get all the debris off of it and hauled backed up on the bank and now it's brushed in and ready for the season!!!!

Buddha and Ellie's 1st hunt was a success. Both pups were a lil confused on thier 1st retrieves but after that it clicked and morning turned out great and they did great on retrieving birds!!!!
Not shooting into the larger flocks working the pond makes for many more memories to be made this fall.
Our favorite time of the year is here!!!!!

After watching larger flocks work and only shooting into small groups, this not only taught him patience, but also being conservative to not burn up a hunting spot. Doing this also helped him on bird Id skills as well.
Needless to say this young man can not only shoot, but is now absolutely addicted to waterfowling!!!

No better way to kick off the 2024 season than with a youth hunt!!!! Let's see what the morning brings our 1st time hunter!!!

An amazing transformation taking place out at the pond!!! Made even more shoreline access for the birds and cleaned up a couple of the peninsulas, thinking I may just put a blind on the Northside of the pond this season.
Less than 20 days till our favorite time of the year starts!!!!

Got the 2 bottom strands of barb wire removed from around the main part of pond dogs use and also knocked down the weeds and reeds for some loafing areas and shore access!!! Now to wait and see if our work will produce the results I'm hoping for!!!
Saw quite a few broods of mallards and also a dozen or so bluewing teal. Now hopefully the geese will start loafing here mid morning.
Seasons coming fast and still plenty to do out here to get it ready for the season.

Lil update on Ozzy's left leg ccl recovery!!!
Hes been doing awesome on his recovery from surgery and things were going great up to yesterday.
Unfortunately I'm 90% sure he just tore his right leg as he's acting the exact way he did when tore his tendon last Nov. Looks like we are back to the beginning and starting this process all over again.
Good thing I'm working 50-60 hrs a week, 1 step forward and 6 back it seems this year!!!!!
