In response to the urgent housing shortage, the Homeless Prevention Council and Community Development Partnership (two Orleans-based, housing-focused non-profits) teamed up to form the Lower Cape Housing and ADU Resource Center back in 2022 to help Lower and Outer Cape residents secure and provide more year-round affordable housing. ADUs have become a popular buzzword on Cape, as one tool to address our year-round housing crisis. This zoom session will provide participants with an overview of ADU’s, innovations related to ADUs implemented across the country, the unique needs and challenges for our region, basic steps you need to consider starting out, and the services and supports offered by the ADU Resource Center. This webinar will also provide an overview of the ADU provisions in the new MA Affordable Homes Act.

Who should attend: Homeowners interested in building an ADU on their property to rent year-round.
