Our home away from home received minor damage from hurricane Milton. Thankfully, there was only a little water in the house. Please pray for those with more significant damage. After a little bit of work, our piece of paradise will be back to perfect shape in no time.

Once the power came on, we did get extremely lucky with something that could have been much much worse.....

Public service message. If you had any flooding in your home, make sure you check any electronics that could have gotten wet. We missed one power strip behind a bed. If it wasn't for good friends and the Punta Gorda fire department, our house would have burnt down today.

We got lucky. Unfortunately many others did not. The hurricane surge got up to the level of our lanai and our front door. Thankfully, no water got in the house. Pray for those who weren't so lucky.

Tried something new that we would definitely recommend for the shell lovers out there. Guided shell tour with Treasure Seekers Shell Tours in Marco Island. 1.5 hour drive from the house but definitely worth it. Audrey and Dylan were awesome guides and even took a break from the heat to watch dolphins jump in our wake and let the kids swim. Book your trip during your next stay. These are just a few of our finds (some of which will stay at Coastal Cozy - Punta Gorda since our bags will be overflowing)
