I have to say Jeff found a way to occupy the fire ants in the middle of our camp. Oats! They stayed away from us, we stayed away from them, it worked. These guys can strip a power bar down to nothing in about 12 hours.
Here we go again!!!
Well, It's that time of year again. Time to start gearing up for this years hike. As it's our 20th Anniversary backpacking around the Southeast Utah canyons, were thinking of retracing our very first packing trip. When we started, there were no trails through the grand Gulch systems, now some of it looks like Hi-ways. We want to see some of those first spots one more time.
Slickhorn RA2
This was in South Slickhorn Canyon about where good stuff starts to show up. We were in this canyon 3 nights. As you can see, it's a massive elevation drop and well, what goes down needs to come back up. We were just a tad tired after the 4 hour trek out to the top side.
Horse Shoe 2
This was day one at Horse Shoe Canyon. Nice day hike, Beautiful Rock Art.
Who wouldn't want to camp here on a clear moonlit night? This was a killer spot on the canyon ledge, we settled in early and just kicked back for a time to enjoy the view.
