Maine in January is like stepping into a serene and enchanting snow globe. ❄️ Picture this: crisp, salty air, waves roaring against rocky cliffs, and a blanket of snow that transforms the coastline into a breathtaking wonderland. You have all of that—and—far less crowds than in the pique of summer. Which puts you closer to all the culinary delights. From eclairs, thank you @modernpastry 🤤 to martinis (and some veggies and protein in between—I swear) each bite and sip is spectacular. At the heart of my trip was @cliffhousemaine, beautifully perched on the edge of the Atlantic. 🌊✨ There’s something unforgettable about the contrast between the warmth of the fire inside and the wild, untamed beauty outside. The Cliff House has something for everyone and would be a great place (during any season) for a couple on a romantic getaway, a multigenerational family needing different amenities, and corporations that want a meeting venue a notch above. Closing out #ChristmasInJuly with a little feature on the biggest surprise of our educational trip to Switzerland. Yesterday’s post featured @7132hotel - one of my favorite properties of this year. Not only was the entire stay amazing, but they topped off our experience with a helicopter tour over the region’s mountains and glaciers. 7132 has their own helicopter for exclusive use by their guests. This includes transfers to/from the property (included when you stay in their penthouse suites) and optional tours. We did the 30-minute tour, but there is also an option to stop on the mountain briefly. Or for a special occasion, the hotel can put together a mountain top picnic experience complete with champagne and culinary delicacies. Perfect for a proposal or special surprise for your loved one! This was my first helicopter experience and it did not disappoint. You can see from my face that I was miserable the whole time 😉. Just kidding, it was thrilling and I’d love to do it again. Visiting the windmills of Kinderdijk was an experience I’ll never forget. @avalonwaterways didn’t disappoint with this UNESCO World Heritage Site consisting of 19 mills, most of which are still inhabited. The windmill is a Dutch icon and a symbol of their water management mastery. Kinderdijk is a fascinating and beautiful must-do when visiting The Netherlands.
