Join us Thursday at 7:00pm for our monthly Zoom! We will (as always) review all trips in the works and drill down specifically on the itinerary for Portugal Fall 2026.

The link is emailed to all registered Travel Sisters so don't forget to register for free at Travelsistersnetwork.com!

We start our Zoom meetings with info about our next in person event, then we review news/details about all upcoming trips, then we get into small groups to get to know each other, ask burning questions, and give feedback on itineraries under consideration.

We post on three different platforms so driving folks to a single RSVP really isn't a priority. Just come if you can - we are flexible and prepared! We typically have 10-20 people attend our Zoom meetings. Hope to see you there!

Spirits are high as we board the ferry to Lady Liberty and Ellis Island. A solo violinist led us in Christmas carols and a rendition of Happy Birthday 😂 Lines, excitement, nervousness about security lines, all languages being spoken. . . Might be a tiny bit like what future Americans experienced on their journey. So grateful for the diversity of our country 💕

We spent the afternoon exploring the HighLine- wow! It’s an elevated pedestrian path along an old rail line. What a feast for the eyes if you like architecture, horticulture, art, and fresh air! Then we stopped in Chelsea Market. No pictures can capture THAT interior smorgasbord of culinary and shopping delights?! Then on to Eataly. You would never know that behind some nondescript doors off 6th Avenue is a whole emporium of Italian cuisine?! Now back to the hotel to rest up for our next Broadway show- whew!

In laying the groundwork for future group travel, we’re doing a lot of navigating this morning- they are starting to close subway lines in prep for NYE. Got to Penn Station to figure out Angie’s return to NJ. Now she knows there’s NY trains, NJ Path trains, Amtrak, NJ Transit. All can be figured out at Penn Station at Madison Square Garden by really nice agents. We kept spirits high by eating along the way- YUM!

We found ourselves in a bit of a food desert near Central Park- rents are so high no restaurants can make it work. So we found a spot a few blocks away. Angie had her first schnitzel 😂 Then we navigated the subway and found an amazing market in Grand Central station. No wonder people from NYC are snobby about food options in NC?! Back to the hotel for a little rest before heading out for a show! Three guesses what Angie is having at the hotel bar🧐😂

We were rewarded for walking in 27 degree weather to the MOMA with a entrance to St. Patrick’s cathedral all decorated. Such beautiful music too.

NYC! We checked in the hotel, swapped updates and then took a power nap before a power walk to dinner at Bryant Park Grille. AMAZING! And Bryant Park has become a little Christmas markets village with dozens of little shops selling the cutest stuff?! And a skating rink! On the walk back we saw some landmarks and planned our morning tomorrow. A successful day one 😊

Angie :My challenge was navigating the city for a day with all my possessions on my back. Went pretty well! Started with Madison Square Gardens and Macy’s peek then lunch (clam chowder and a French75 😊) and then the NY public library tour. The trick was to get the brochure, find a seat, listen to the audio tour, then get up and quickly see all the things! Then headed to the hotel and laid my burdens down. . . Ahhhhh!

We started our “grassroots” NYC trip today and what a great start! We each came in on trains from different states and worked our way to the hotel by 3pm. Let’s start with the basics: it’s two of us at the Westgate Grand Central Station hotel for 3 nights. Awesome location and really nice property! About $400 a night with breakfast.

We’ve had a lot of requests for how to make the hot chocolate we all enjoyed at the holiday party and there’s good news! It’s super easy! You buy this at Walmart or Publix and add whole milk. That’s IT! Thanks Debbie McNally!

What an amazing holiday party! It was ambitious - AND Melinda led the most fun and interactive games, Melissa made sure the winners received lovely prizes, Debbie provided the incredible hot chocolate, Barb led a great gift exchange and everyone brought amazing food! Lots of new folks, too. And the sisters headed to Costa Rica had lunch after- just a fun, fun day 💕🎄THANKS to all who came and made it special!
