The business started small, concentrating primarily on South Africa, but has morphed into a concentration including all of Southern and East Africa. We have travelled and continue to travel throughout the area and strive to send all of our clients only to places that we have visited personally. Blue Headed Agama Lizard (𝘈𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘴). 🦎

This lizard is found across Africa, and is easily recognized by the brilliant blue coloring on males' heads during mating season.

🌞 Agamas are diurnal, which means they’re active during the day and love basking in the sun to regulate their body temperature.

🌱 While they primarily eat insects, they sometimes include small fruits and plants in their diet.

👑 Males establish territories and even form hierarchies, with dominant males showing the brightest blue hues to attract mates.

Happy World Lemur Day! 🐒🌍

Today, our is all about the ring-tailed lemur (Lemur catta), an icon of Madagascar’s unique wildlife. 😎

DID YOU KNOW?
Ring-tailed lemurs use scent-marking and vocalizations to communicate, including a distinctive "howl" for long-distance calls.📢
Known for their “sunbathing” stance, they sit upright with arms stretched out to soak in warmth from the sun. ☀
These lemurs are endangered due to habitat loss and hunting, with populations decreasing in the wild.💔

Today, we celebrate one of the world's most elusive and majestic big cats—the snow leopard! These stunning creatures are perfectly adapted to thrive in the high mountains of Central Asia, but they face increasing threats from habitat loss and poaching. 😔

One fascinating fact about snow leopards that many people don’t know is that they can't roar! Unlike other big cats, snow leopards communicate using growls, mews, chuffing sounds, and wailing calls, but their vocal cords lack the structure to produce a true roar. This makes them unique among their wild relatives! 📢

Snow leopards are a vital part of our planet's biodiversity. Let's raise awareness and work together to protect these "ghosts of the mountains" and their fragile ecosystems. Every small action counts in safeguarding their future!🌍

Dusky Langur (Trachypithecus obscurus). 🐵

This adorable primate, also known as the Dusky Leaf Monkey, is native to Southeast Asia and is known for its unique features and fascinating behavior.

Dusky Langurs are easily recognized by their striking white eye patches and pale mouths, which stand out against their dark fur. Newborns, however, are bright orange! 🍊

They primarily feed on leaves, giving them the nickname "leaf monkeys." Their complex stomachs allow them to digest tough, fibrous plant material that many other animals can't process. 🍂

Dusky Langurs live in groups of 5 to 20 individuals, often led by a dominant male. They are known for their strong social bonds and playful nature, especially among younger members of the group. 👥

This strikingly beautiful bird, with its vibrant yellow belly and olive-green back, is a well-known resident of South Africa. 🇿🇦

Bokmakieries are famous for their melodious duets, where a pair will sing in perfect harmony, creating a delightful call-and-response pattern. 🎶

Bokmakieries are opportunistic feeders, enjoying insects, small reptiles, and occasionally fruits. 🍇🕷️

Vaccinating wild animals from the helicopter is always a highlight for our wildlife vet students! 😍🥳

Here in Chobe National Park, Botswana at a stunning and affordable lodge and campground, Mwandi View owned by Amalia & Anton du Plessis. Watering hole last night had maybe 100 elephants coming through from about 8PM, onwards. Non stop. Then the hippo came in big numbers. Then a lioness. Whole place was alive as you can see. At the end of this video is where elephants head off to the left of the tree. They meet hippo coming into the watering hole. You cannot see it but there is a sole lioness in between in the bushes. She starts calling. All 3 animal groups calling at one time. I stayed up until 2AM to watch it all. Never stopped with animals from dusk to when I left. Drought in Botswana so there is no water and the animals are here every night in these numbers.
