After graduating from UNCG in 2004, she worked as a radio personality on one of NC’s most popular radio stations, yet still found it difficult to gain financial stability and independence. Following many rejected job applications and several failed attempts at securing state services for the blind, Kamille took matters into her own hands, pursuing another one of her passions, message therapy. She
subsequently opened YOUphoria Therapeutic Massage, in Raleigh, NC. Although Kamille was able to forge a promising career path, many of her blind and visually impaired friends were not so lucky. Kamille recognized the disparity in career opportunities among the blind community. In response, her latest endeavor focuses on preventing blind and visually impaired college students and graduates from experiencing the professional obstacles that blind people face each day. Through the establishment of Blind Girl Vision Foundation, Kamille is seeking to integrate capable, motivated, and ambitious blind and visually impaired individuals into the competitive professional arena. Richardson, Kamille's older sister and biggest advocate, is BGVF's cofounder. She earned an undergraduate degree from NCA&T in 2003, and an MBA from The Goizueta School of Business at Emory University in 2009. Lakila has built her niche in the corporate arena, working with several Fortune 500 companies. Armed with a breadth knowledge and experience, Lakila is poised to "put the wheels" on the BGVF concept. Kamille's perseverance is an inspiration to her sister every day. Lakila says, "I have witnessed Kamille apply and personify the 'Live With Vision' mantra throughout her life, and I accredit this to her success as a blind professional in a sighted world". Kamille and Lakila are thrilled to embark on this new journey.
