Meet Your Photographer
Hello! My name is Becca. I specialize in baby, child, and family photography in Central Vermont. My goal with every session is to create an enjoyable, memorable experience for you and your family, while capturing images you will treasure forever.
I am married to my supportive and dedicated husband, Dan, who often helps me out during sessions. I am the mother of two boys and a baby girl. My first born is a handsome, strong, very determined Kindergartner with a heart of gold. He is a very silly, independent, smart little guy who completely turned our world upside down (for the better!). My second born is a little comedian who comes out with the most random things to make us laugh at just three years old. His huge grin and dimples are enough to put a smile on anyone’s face! My beautiful daughter is now 6 months old and we are looking forward to seeing what her personality is over the next few months! My family is my world and they are a large part of the reason I began my journey into the world of photography.
While I have been taking photographs for many years, my true passion for photography began after the birth of my oldest son. He was born two months premature and spent five weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Spending all that time in the NICU surrounded by sweet tiny babies, I fell in love with watching them breathe and sleep. I learned a lot about their movements and the transition they make from being in the womb to our world. This has helped me to understand the environment that makes newborns most comfortable and allows me to photograph them in a calm, natural state. My husband and I both learned how to carefully hold these very delicate and precious bundles of joy. As a result, you can rest assured that your little one is in good hands.
Over the next couple of months, watching my son grow and change before my eyes made me realize how precious this fleeting period of time is and how important it is to capture those beautiful moments while they are still small.
One of my favorite parts of what I do is watching children grow as they come back again for future sessions. Meeting them initially is such a joy, and I do my best to make them (and their caregivers!) feel comfortable during their first session. So many of my clients have told me that their children had so much fun that they didn't want to leave their session and talked about it for days after. I prefer to make these sessions fun, more like playtime, than a chore or something they are being forced to do. For that reason kids love to come back, and I love seeing their smiling faces over the years. I was recently invited to one of my tiny client's birthday party, where I was introduced by the adorable 4-year-old birthday girl to her friends as "my friend Becca, who takes pictures of me!"
I truly enjoy watching how families interact with one another and seeing the love between parents and their children, as well as between siblings (though sometimes they may have a funny way of showing it!). Photography allows me to do something I love while providing images that families will treasure for generations.
My eyes prefer crisp, clear, vivid, colorful images over the style of muted and soft tones, though I do recognize that beautiful images can be created from both styles.
God's natural light is my favorite tool – filtering through the trees in your backyard, flooding in your windows, filling a park with warm brilliant tones. I love traditional, environmental, both posed and lifestyle portraits where you can see faces clearly.
I'd love to connect with you and start documenting the important moments in your life.
