Have you tried these activities at @custerstateparksd? ๐
๐ฒ Hiking - with several trails for every skill level, there are plenty of opportunities to explore new places! Scale Black Elk Peak or wander easily around Sylvan Lake, either way, you'll get plenty of views.
๐ฒFloating - Rent kayaks and paddleboards at Legion Lake Lodge or bring your own and paddle about for the day. Keep an eye out for turtles!
๐ฒWildlife Viewing - From bees to bison, you'll be amazed at how many species call Custer State Park their home. If you're up for even more adventure, hitch a ride on a Buffalo Safari. Bison roam the park freely but be sure to give them the space that they need.
๐ฒ Horseback Riding - The trip over to Blue Bell Stables is a charming one, especially via guided trail rides.
๐ฒ Scenic drives - Did we mention that Custer State Park has not one, but four beautiful scenic routes to drive? Check out the Iron Mountain Road, Needles Highway, Norbeck Byway, and Wildlife Loop Road!

When you visit Mount Rushmore National Memorial, take your pup to the Pet Exercise Area where you can hang out with your doggo (while keeping them on-leash) AND view the Memorial. To find the relief area, just follow the yellow paw prints! While we appreciate your understanding that pets are not permitted within the Memorial grounds (past the stone arches), we want to be sure you have the tools you need when planning your vacation with your pup this summer. And finally, always remember to clean up after your dogs so the Pet Relief Area can be enjoyed by other families, too!
