The Evening Lighting Ceremony at Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a beautiful sight to behold and can be a memorable experience for visitors.

✔️ Held beginning the Friday before Memorial Day to September 30th
✔️ From May through early August, the ceremony starts nightly at 9 pm
✔️ August through September 30th, it starts nightly at 8 pm

Have you seen the Yellow at the Badlands National Park?
So beautiful to see, book a tour with us, it is truly one of the best

Yellow is the new black…at least in Badlands National Park! 💛

Monochromatic looks have been all the rage recently. The first color that comes to mind when thinking of the Badlands might be brown. Many of our rock formations, and even much of our grass currently, is various shades of tan, but September is also the season for yellow in the park!

If you are in the park this month, you will probably see two of our yellow flowers blooming, curlycup gumweed, pictured top left, and our native sunflowers, pictured bottom left.

With fall also comes the changing of the leaves, even in the Badlands! While we don’t have much foliage, our few cottonwoods are getting a beautiful amber hue this time of year, seen in the top right panel.

Last but not least, the bottom right corner shows our iconic yellow mounds formation, which remains golden all year round!

Those big horns aren't there for decoration.

While these large animals are fascinating to see in person, it's important to keep a safe distance of at least 25 yards. Despite their size, bison are extremely agile and can run up to 35mph.

Fun fact: Usain Bolt's fastest speed was 27mph, which is still slower than a bison.
