We are beyond honored to share that Black Hills Adventure Tours has been named Small Business of the Year by Elevate Rapid City!!!!

This recognition means the world to us. From the early mornings on the trail to the late nights planning the perfect adventure, this business has always been a labor of love. We couldn’t have done it without our loyal guests, incredible community partners, and most importantly, our amazing team, who pour their heart into every single tour.

Twenty years ago, we started this company with one small vehicle and passion for showing off the hidden gems of the Black Hills, and every day we’re reminded why we do what we do. Thank you for trusting us with your adventures, your memories, and your support.

It’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks here in the Black Hills! We had the pleasure of hosting four amazing tour operators from Canada. What a joy it was to share our favorite places with such a fun, curious, and adventurous group of ladies!

Our staff also had the chance to explore the historic Frawley Ranch near Spearfish. If you haven’t been, it’s a true hidden gem packed with history—we especially loved seeing the original farm equipment and the dugouts!

We also welcomed a travel writer from Italy who is working on a feature about meaningful, off-the-beaten-path experiences in the American West. Her visit included a powerful stop on the Pine Ridge Reservation, an experience full of connection, culture, and heart.

To top it all off, we were invited to experience one of the Badlands’ newest adventures, a one-hour fixed-wing flight over the stunning Badlands landscape. It was absolutely incredible and gave us a whole new perspective on this dramatic and beautiful region. Highly recommend Fly Badlands!!

Wowza… it’s been a whirlwind couple of weeks!

I was the guest speaker for the America Association of University Women’s breakfast. It was a true honor to share my story with some amazing and accomplished women!

I had the pleasure of spending a few days touring around some dear friends during their air conditioning conference and yes, even HVAC folks love the Black Hills!

Then came a full day of pitching the Black Hills to 48 international tour operators followed by three packed days of familiarization tours for 17 operators in partnership with Travel South Dakota, Rocky Mountain International, Black Hills Badlands and Visit Rapid City.

As that wrapped, we shifted gears into airport and local transportation for the World Wildlife Fund. Their team met with partners on the Pine Ridge Reservation to support ongoing sustainability initiatives with tribal leadership.

One of the absolute highlights? An unforgettable dinner on top of Sheep Mountain prepared by Chef Braveheart! The food and views were amazing!!

Amid all this, I was honored to take a moment and celebrate my friend and colleague, Michelle Thomson, as she received the Women’s Choice Award at the Celebrating Women in Business luncheon hosted by SD CEO.

And… just for good measure, my team and I attended the Parks and Recreation update and literature swap with Black Hills Badlands followed by Customer Service training with TravelSD. Both productive and inspiring events!

It’s been a busy, rewarding, and incredibly meaningful couple of weeks. I’m grateful for the connections, the partnerships, and the purpose behind the work! ❤️
