For years different pieces of lake property were scouted out, looking for the perfect place to build a home and, in the 1970’s, a house was finally built. Each piece of knotty cedar, furniture, and many other things were chosen with care and, during their travels, Mr. Nyberg brought additional curiosities and treasures into their home, to the delight of their family. In 2005, on one of their many adventures, Mrs. Nyberg fell ill and, soon after, passed away. Her husband, stricken by grief, rapidly fell victim to dementia and was unable to live on his own, placing a huge financial burden on his next of kin. Wanting only the very best care for their father, the children rented out their parents’ pride and joy. Many of the decorations still remain in the house so the world can share in the majesty, tranquility and adventure that the couple held dear for years.
