Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ability to build Aerial Cable
Ability to operate a bucket truck
Ability to splice Aerial Coax Cable
Ability to lash cables, set bonds, build risers, set anchors and down guys
Ability to train Aerial Ground man
Ability to clean vehicles, trailers, tools and equipment (free of trash)
Ability to perform daily safety and maintenance checks
Ability to safely and correctly direct multi-directional traffic and appropriate signage
Ability to ensure equipment is safely and securely stored
Ability to advise Manager of any required maintenance or repairs

Qualifications
Must have previous Aerial Cable experience
Must have 1-3 years utility construction experience
Must have CLASS A CDL preferred
Must have the knowledge or obtain knowledge of safety systems associated with trenching and/or drilling including set up and emergency procedures
Must have knowledge of reading locate sheets/maps
Must have ability to follow directions
Must provide own tools: #9 pliers, cable cutters, 10 or 12” crescent wrench, assorted screwdrivers and nut drivers, small sledge or hammer, tin snips, bell wrench, body belt, safety strap, gaffs, tool pouch or gitty bag.

Safety Responsibilities
Must follow all safety rules at all times and not engage in unsafe acts
Must attend and participate in all safety meetings and training
Must use all issued safety equipment required for job
Must report all injuries, accidents, unsafe acts or conditions to Supervisor or Safety personnel

AERIAL LINEMAN BENEFIT PACKAGE:
Weekly Base Pay: $750/week x 52 weeks/year = $39,000/year (minimum)
Potential weekly PRODUCTION pay is minimum $360+/week x 52 weeks/year = $18,720+

- Ability to operate a directional drill

- Ability to provide basic service on equipment
- Ability to restore and landscape areas of a jobsite
- Ability to load materials
- Ability to clean vehicles, trailers, tools and equipment (free of trash)
- Ability to safely and correctly direct multi-directional traffic and appropriate signage
- Ability to install above and below surface vaults and pedestals
- Ability to asphalt pot holes, repair and concrete sidewalk removal and replacement
- Ability to follow simple instructions
Qualifications
- Must have previous experience locating for directional drill
- Must have 1-3 years utility construction experience
- Must have Class A CDL
- Must have the ability to operate manual and mechanical equipment
- Must have the knowledge or obtain knowledge of safety systems associated with trenching and/or drilling including set up and emergency procedures

Martin Underground is a fully licensed, insured and bonded underground construction contractor that has the unique ability to deliver a wide range of underground construction projects. As a true turnkey provider, we can execute on all stages of the project cycle. We design, install and provide underground construction services from placing fiber optic cable, coax, water lines, and conduit by means of directional drilling, trenching and open digging. We also provide aerial construction services such as hanging coax, phone and fiber optic cable and lighting and signage maintenance. We handle all aspects of the project including engineering, project management, construction, installation, and splicing. Martin’s management team has been building networks for the past 13 years. Many of our project supervisors have 20 years + experience starting as technicians. Our fiber placement crews provide “cradle to the grave” construction. Our construction managers work closely with the regulatory and municipal authorities. Our goals with these authorities is to communicate, schedule, follow code, and leave the job clean and restored. Our goals when starting and completing a job are to provide our clients with a quality product while keeping the authorities happy and leaving the project with a reputation of excellence.
