Right off Highway 89 between Mt. Shasta and McCloud sits Snowman's Hill, known to be one of the best sledding destinations in Northern California.

Happy Fourth of July from The City of Redding!
Join us for the annual Freedom Festival, tonight starting at 6pm at the Redding Civic Auditorium! The fireworks begin at 10pm.
While there will be no entertainment stage this year, there will be a soundtrack to accompany the fireworks on Today’s Country Q97, 97.3FM and on Redding’s Classic Rock Red, 103.1FM at 10 p.m.

Let the sun shine in as you enjoy a refreshing yoga session on the longest day of the year. Redding Recreation’s Summer Solstice Yoga On The Sundial Bridge takes place on Sunday, June 20th from 5:15am to 7:15am.
Yoga instructor Melissa Ballard will guide you through three 30-minute sets of Sun Salutation, with modifications as needed. If that seems a bit too ambitious, come celebrate and just do what feels right for you!
Bring a yoga mat, blanket, flashlight, and water bottle (no glass). Dress in layers for easy movement & temperature variations.
Purchase your ticket by Tuesday, June 15 for a guaranteed space at reddingrecreation.org. Tickets are $15 each and you can add a cool and comfortable commemorative tank or t-shirt for $20.00.

“It's exciting to see local travel through Redding Municipal Airport expanding this way! Here's why this passenger hold room will go from empty to full very soon:
United will be resuming all of the flight services offered in and out of RDD before the start of the pandemic. The brand new Avelo Airlines flight service to Hollywood Burbank Airport - BUR gets its wings later this month, and in June, Alaska Airlines' will begin offering service between Redding and Seattle!
This is big news for Redding and a great opportunity to take advantage of the comfort and convenience of flying locally. “
Can you imagine? Our passenger hold room will all of a sudden become full not only because United Airlines will be resuming A-L-L of their flights from before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, but it is also because of RDD's new air service to Hollywood-Burbank, CA (BUR). But this a good thing! Keep reading to see why.
Beginning in June, United's San Francisco International Airport (SFO) & Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) flights will overlap with the new Avelo Airlines BUR flight which will utilize a larger 737-800 aircraft. When more people fly local, more opportunities and growth go along with it.
As a reminder, also in June, Alaska Airlines will begin their daily service from RDD to Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA). The first flight arrives on the 17th in the evening and the first departure will be the very next morning.
To adapt to this growth, the Airport will be doing everything possible to make some adjustments in the Terminal in order to ease the congestion. In the meantime, staff at RDD is encouraging passengers for the afternoon flights, in particular, to arrive early during this awesome period of growth for your local (and regional) Airport! It's the airlines' recommendation that you arrive 2-hours prior to your flight. We will continue to work hard for our community. Comment below to give feedback.
