Huge shout-out to Dad's cousin David Kember and his 4 man crew! Dave was there last night to check it all out, and on site first thing this morning. Tiny bit of water and sand inside, so thankful!

First light of day... and looks like Idalia took our fence. But we still have power! And the umbrellas we couldn't remove from their holders are still standing :) Once access opens to the beaches we will find out if the beach tried to swim in the pool or head inside the house...

Our guests have such neat stories, and we love the memories made by each and every one of you! But this story was just too neat not to share with you all...may we introduce the Jones Siblings...

"Our stay at your home on the Gulf was amazing. The coziness and warmth of having all ten siblings together under one roof and being able all get together every day to socialize was beyond our wildest dreams. This was only the third time in our lifetime that we had all been together. The oldest is 96 and the youngest 73. And then the added joy of walking out the sliding door past the pool and down to the Gulf of Mexico was priceless. I have nothing but praise for your home that you chose to share with us. At our ages we don’t know how much longer we can all get together. God has been very good to us. My Mother lived to 106 and her Mother to 104. Thanks to your home our reunion was a huge loving success.

The Jones family siblings, consisting of 10 brothers and sisters between the ages of 95 and 73, have all come together for the first time in 43 years under one roof.

Spared! Doesn't seem quite right, when so many others are dealing with Hurricane Ian's aftermath. But thankful this 'ole home can continue to be a part of so many family memories! No photos yet, but will post when we get some.

The county’s barrier islands saw some fallen signs, trees and shingles but avoided the kind of damage Hurricane Irma inflicted in 2017.
