Our groups love visiting the City of David, the original Jerusalem of the Kings and Prophets of Judah. And even before David, the place where Abraham would have met Melchizedek, King of Salem. There are ongoing excavations and findings! As you enjoy a coffee or ice cream 🍦 from here, you can look up to Mt. Moriah where King David would dream of building a House for God, add would coin, “ I will lift my eyes to the hills where my help comes from…looking down from the opposite direction, you can view the same terraced hills where David would have seen Bat Sheba, easily within view. Even before David, this would be the place Abraham would have met Melchizedek, King of Salem. From here you can walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel or the Cannaite Channel from which David would have conquered the city. See where Solomon was anointed King and the Pool of Siloam, where Jesus healed the blind man and where Pulgrims would begin their ascent to the Temple. Come join us on a phenomenal trip to Israel!

The Israeli Government has approved a budget of over $26,000,000 to repair and further develop the promenade on the shoreline of the Sea of Galilee. The Sea of Galilee is the lowest lake on the planet, at 686 feet below Sea Level, 13 miles long and 8 miles wide.

The Lake was the setting for most of Jesus ministry, as he taught in the synagogues and healed many. The gospels call Capernaum his home. Six miles from Capernaum is ancient Magdala, another important fishing town. Although, the gospels do not mention Jesus being there, it is most probable he was, as he set free Mary from Magdala, the woman with the 7 demons who later became one of his most devoted and famous followers. Today you will find the remains of a synagogue from the actual time of Jesus. Other towns close to the Sea of Galilee mentioned in the gospels are Chorazin, Bethsaida and Kursi.

Preservation and thoughtful development of the Galilee region is something we should grateful for.
