We are downsizing our costume closet and have many "prairie dresses" similar to this style as well as several other costume pieces for both men and women available to donate. PLEASE NOTE: these are not historical pieces and have never been part of our collection. They are not historically accurate to any time period but would make great additions to school or novice theater company. Please reach out to us here or by email at [email protected]

This workshop will start at 6:30PM in the Tilton Room at the Carpenter Museum.

We are excited to host Kristine Sky Wind Thomas-Jones, DC, PhD of the Pokanoket and Seaconke Wampanoag. Thomas-Jones has a Doctorate in Chiropractic, a Master of Science, and a PhD in Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology. Currently, she serves as a clinical faculty member in the MPH program at SNHU and is an Assistant Professor of Biology at a college in the Tampa Bay region of Florida. This is the second time Thomas-Jones is coming to chat with us, and she will be explaining her experience using herbs medicinally, where herbs can be found, and what they can be used for.

Herbs have been used historically in a range of ways. To this day people use them in their daily lives. During this event participants will hear about some of this history and get a Native perspective on the use of plants. Participants will also get to try out and learn about a range of herbal uses as well as make their own craft to take home. Come smell, touch and learn about herbs used both historically and in modern times!
