This photo of Pyramid is EVERYTHING!

Photo of the day: I was lucky enough to be out at Pyramid Lake for the sunrise last Tuesday. Mostly it was socked in with storm clouds (and we were given the full 'Nevada' experience that day with hurricane-like winds, rain, hail, sun ... it ran the gamut) but when that sun peeked out the plants on the shoreline exploded in glowing color. Only for about 2 minutes. I'm so grateful I was there to see it, and can share it. Posted by Art Director Kippy Spilker.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐈 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐭: This is my favorite map of Nevada, mainly because it’s just so pretty 🤗. I wish more time was spent on modern maps in regards to aesthetic design.
➳ 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞: check out the lack of counties, and how ginormous the ones shown are. There were 11 counties when this map was made: Ormsby, Washoe, Roop, Humboldt, Churchill, Storey, Douglas, Lyon, Esmeralda, Nye & Lander. (Lincoln County was created in late 1866 but is left off this map as it was created early 1866)
