5 Apps You Need for COVID-19 Travel

It’s hard to keep up with the frequently changing COVID-19 travel restrictions that vary from location to location. Fortunately there are many apps emerging that can help people who love to travel be prepared for potential COVID-related disruptions to their trip.

Do I need to wear a mask? Do I need to be vaccinated before traveling? Will I be able to go out to eat at my destination? If you find yourself asking these questions as you travel, then you need to download one of these top travel apps that include helpful information on COVID updates, disruptions and more.

1.TripIt :
TripIt organizes all of your itineraries and travel info from your other travel apps and creates a master itinerary that’s easy to follow. The Traveler Resource Center is packed with features to inform you about what to expect regarding COVID-19 regulations during your travels. You can find out about mask guidelines, cancellations, refunds, credits, and airline restrictions as well. The app also provides resources where you can learn about digital health passports, infection rates and any other requirements for your destination.
2.Omio
With an app and a website, Omio’s Open Travel Index provides the latest COVID-19 travel information about disruptions such as airline regulations, business closures, mask mandates and more. You can also use Omio to book flights, buses, trains and ferries and search for more information on specific countries to find out if there are any entry regulations or other COVID-19 guidelines to follow while you are there.

3. Airsiders Compass
Airsiders Compass recently came out with a Health App. This app allows you to learn about the safety measures and restrictions at airports and airlines around the world so that you’re always prepared with the right PPE and documentation necessary to fly. Health App provides an easy overview of everything related to COVID-19 at the airport including restaurant closures and disinfection checkpoints.

4. Check & Fly
This app was created by The Airports Council International for iOS, so you know that you are getting quality info when you use Check & Fly. It compiles health and safety information directly from airports so that you know what to expect before you arrive. Airports can even communicate with passengers directly through the app with the most up-to-date information so that you can be prepared for every aspect of your trip and avoid surprises.

5. App in the Air
This all-in-one travel app helps users navigate traveling amidst COVID-19 in a streamlined platform with all of your arrangements in one place. This app is available online, on Android and on iOS so you can check health and safety measures for your flights, get notifications about flight changes, and learn about pandemic regulations at each of your destinations no matter what kind of phone you have.

Vaccine & Testing Requirements

Beginning November 8, fully vaccinated international travelers who want to come to the U.S. can now do so, following the U.S. government’s announcement that it will lift travel restrictions on foreign nationals that have been in place since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here’s what you need to know about the new U.S entry requirements:

Vaccine & Testing Requirements

· Fully vaccinated foreign nationals will be permitted to enter the U.S. with proof of vaccination and a negative COVID-19 test taken within three days of departure. Unvaccinated foreign nationals will not be able to board a flight to the U.S., unless they meet criteria for one of the exceptions.

· Fully vaccinated U.S. citizens returning from abroad will still be required to show proof a negative test result within three days of departure.

· Unvaccinated U.S. citizens must show proof of a negative test within one day of departure to re-enter the U.S. from abroad. Approved test types include COVID-19 viral tests approved by the U.S. government (molecular, nucleic acid amplification [NAAT], RT-PCR, TMA, LAMP, and antigen tests accepted).

· Children under 18 years of age are exempt from the vaccination requirement. Children between ages 2 and 17 are required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test (under age 2, not required to test).

Attestation Form & Contact Tracing

· All passengers ages 2 and up will need to complete an attestation form before boarding a flight to the U.S.

· Contact tracing information will be required for all passengers entering the U.S. Delta will collect this information for its passengers on behalf of the CDC.

Approved Vaccines & Proof of Vaccination
Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks (14 days) or more after receiving one dose of a single dose vaccine, two doses of a two-dose vaccine or any combination of a two-dose vaccine (i.e., mix and match) of an approved or authorized for emergency use vaccine by the U.S. FDA and World Health Organization (WHO) including:

· J&J (also called Janssen)

· Pfizer-BioNTech

· Moderna

· AstraZeneca

· Covishield

· BIBP/Sinopharm

· Sinovac

Proof of vaccination can either be digital or paper and must include at a minimum full name and date of birth matching the traveler’s passport, name of official source issuing the vaccine, vaccine type and date(s) of vaccination.

IGUAZU FALLS
Argentina & Brazil
Iguazu Falls, Iguazú Falls, Iguassu Falls, or Iguaçu Falls (Spanish: Cataratas del Iguazú [kataˈɾatas ðel iɣwaˈsu]; Guarani: Chororo Yguasu [ɕoɾoɾo ɨɣʷasu]; Portuguese: Cataratas do Iguaçu [kataˈɾatɐʒ du iɡwaˈsu]) are waterfalls of the Iguazu River on the border of the Argentine province of Misiones and the Brazilian state of Paraná. They are the largest waterfalls system in the world. The falls divide the river into the upper and lower Iguazu. The Iguazu River rises near the city of Curitiba. For most of its course, the river flows through Brazil, however, most of the falls are on the Argentine side. Below its confluence with the San Antonio River, the Iguazu River forms the boundary between Argentina and Brazil.

The name “Iguazu” comes from the Guarani or Tupi words “y” [ɨ], meaning “water”, and “ûasú “[waˈsu], meaning “big”. Legend has it that a deity planned to marry a beautiful woman named Naipí, who fled with her mortal lover Tarobá in a canoe. In a rage, the deity sliced the river, creating the waterfalls and condemning the lovers to an eternal fall. The first European to record the existence of the falls was the Spanish conquistador Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca in 1541.
