This weekend is Free Fun Weekend! Do you have plans to explore this weekend?

To help plan for this weekend's adventure, here are a few things you should know:

🌿 Vehicle admission stickers will not be required at state parks.
🌿 Most state parks and trails will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
🌿 ATVs, UTVs and OHMs are exempt from registration requirements. Resident and non-resident all-terrain vehicle operators do not need a trail pass to ride state ATV trails.
🌿 Residents and non-residents will not be required to have a fishing license or trout/salmon stamps.
🌿 All 2024-2025 fishing regulations apply, including bag and length limits and species restrictions.
🌿 Boats must be registered, which can be done either online or via mail.

You’re invited to try something new during Free Fun Weekend, June 1-2, 2024!

Every year on the first weekend in June, state park admission fees, fishing licenses and trail passes are waived for all visitors.

Wisconsin’s great outdoors offer endless opportunities to get outside and have fun. Here are a few ways you can find your adventure this Free Fun Weekend:

– Get hands-on experience in fly-tying and go home with at least two flies that you can use at Wildcat Mountain State Park’s Learn To Fly Fish event

– Explore a variety of activities, including archery, crafts, fishing, meeting live animals, looking through a telescope and more at the Kettle Moraine State Forest – Pike Lake Unit’s Discovery Day

– Use your nature detective skills to identify and learn about some of the species that are native to Mirror Lake State Park

– Join the Wausau Bird Club for a birding hike at Rib Mountain State Park to learn about the birds who call the park home

– Learn the basics of Dutch oven cooking for your next camping trip or backyard cookout at Kohler-Andrae State Park’s Dutch oven cooking event

🚴‍♀️🚣🏆 The Rib Mountain Adventure Challenge is an adventure race in which teams of 2-4 members and soloists will run, bike, and paddle their way through the rugged and beautiful Central Wisconsin wilderness using only a map and compass to find the way. Team members must stick together throughout the duration of the race.
