Laughing Bear Cabin is a picture-perfect historic log cabin nestled in the forests of the Cascade Mountains. It is ready for your cozy weekend getaway in the heart of Mt Hood's year-round recreation area. And it's an easy 47 mile drive east of Portland, Oregon, just over a mile off of scenic Highway 26. If you have been searching for a Mountain memory-making experience, you'll find it at Laughing

Bear. All you have to do is pack your clothes, personal belongings and food...the cabin is ready for a comfortable stay with all the conveniences of home. (We can even provide groceries service if you like.) Take a few moments and browse the following topics (also accessible by clicking on them in the Website Index found to the left of this page). Great little cabin with historical character
Cabin was cozy and clean and fit 4 of us very comfortably! Hot tub was hot and clean and fire pit area was prefect for some late night s’mores! Cabin is old and creaky but we loved the charm! Cabin is near some great little hikes and right off the Hwy 26 for easy access. Unfortunately, there was a little road noise we could hear when we were outside but really only when semis passed but the trees surrounding the cabin made it feel like you were further away. We really enjoyed our stay! We look forward to coming back!

Unique and Perfect Location
This cabin is a wonderful place to stay when up at Mt. Hood, especially with a larger group of people. The place feels like home and has everything that you would want when staying at a cabin. It is definitely unique and I would love to visit there again. Ski bowl was only a 15 minute drive and meadows was about a 30 minute drive, and there is a small grocery store that is walking distance. The location made the stay even better. D

Authentic log cabin in a lovely setting
We very much enjoyed our stay at Laughing Bear. It had all the ambiance and amenities that a historic log cabin should have. Its a bit rustic, but we didn't mind that at all. The owners were very easy to work with. We look forward to returning soon.

Excellent weekend at an excellent cabin!
We had a quick weekend getaway at Laughing Bear and had a great time. It was exactly what us friends needed. The cabin was full of charm and had everything we needed except an aux cord to listen to music on the stereo. Brad was easy to communicate with and everything was great!

Overflowing with Rustic Charm!
This was a perfect place to stay for a few days in the drippy Pacific NW forest, just minutes from Mt. Hood, convenient retail and dining. Although we could hear highway noise, it was blended with the rushing waters of the Zig Zag River only yards away, We felt cozy and secluded.
