Tired of broken drawers and a little tight carrying things into the kitchen. Decided to find and paint this piece. I swear there was linoleum under the old cabinet, but when the “new” cabinet was installed this morning- OOPS-the floor was a different color( hence the longest rug I have).
Phase 2 is to replace the flooring due to a water leak by the end of the year.

This special note came at a perfect time for me. July 4th was always a favorite holiday of my parents and with yesterday being a rainy mundane day, I was feeling rather melancholy. Thank you ladies for the extra spark today!!

Saturday - Monday, August 24-26 with the option to arrive Friday, August 23 after 4 pm. = $132 per person for up to 3 night stay.

2 nights = $132 per person including tax.
Available 2 night weekends are:

3 night weekend: $160 per person, including tax. August 23(after 3) to August 26.

A few years ago, a long-time group lost one of their own ~ Connie. She enjoyed coming to Simply Sisters for many years. In her memory, the group made a donation to Simply Sisters. This stain glass window hangs in the morning light on the second floor.
Like binding completes a quilt, Connie’s nameplate completes the window. Shine on Connie - shine on.

A recent group who came during the Christmas open craft weekend this month, decided to share their stamps as well as boxes of paper and other fun accessories to be used at Simply Sisters! I will have fun organizing it into containers, and it will be easily accessible on a shelf with wheels.

As many of you know, my mother passed away earlier this summer. A few weeks ago, my siblings and I began the daunting task of going through her belongings. Her home, which she was very proud of, was always immaculate and everything in its place. We wondered what should we do with the wall hanging of ribbons which represents all her entries into the county fair? A sister suggested displaying it here.
Now I can share her honor with all the talented like-minded guests here at Simply Sisters.

My website is broken! Maybe it’s a sign to give it a new look, to simplify, and make it more user-friendly? 
Availability for 2023 is December 5 through the end of the year and I do have some Monday through Wednesday stays in January and February 2024.

For nearly two years, many of my guests at Simply Sisters have known that I, along with family members, took turns taking care of our mother. She enjoyed sewing for her seven children, including making wedding dresses, bridesmaids, and other dresses for her five daughters. Baptismal gowns were made from leftover wedding fabric. 32 coats/ jackets were sewn and then made into quilts. Embroidery of all kinds, cross stitching, Swedish weaving, and of course quilts. She passed away last week at the age of 90. Our country church’s oak pews were the perfect place to display some of her quilts. I can only hope to be as talented of a sewer as she was.
