I have been busy in the shop this spring, but have not been posting what I've been doing. so, I am going to try to catch up on some of the thing I've been making. One project was a kitchen cabinet for our pot and pans and lids. It has two drawers, one is 14 inches deep the other is 11 inches, with full extension drawer slides.

Finished these this morning, put the hardware on them. Finished turning them last week. The are turned from a cedar post that my neighbor had a dinner bell on. He gave the post to me when they sold the bell. They are 15" high with a base diameter of 5" and have three-way light sockets. The price is $100.00 and you provide the shades and bulbs.

Wednesday I spent most of the day creating a pen blank, cutting, measuring and fitting the pieces then gluing them together. Thursday I turned it and yesterday I assembled this Vertex click pen. It is a segmented blank, made from walnut, ash and purpleheart. I made a video from a number of pictures, to show the pen from all sides. The hardware is gun metal and the pen uses a Parker refill. The pen is $49.95 plus tax and shipping.

How do you like this one? This is the last of last weeks scrap wood turning. It made from a cut off of the cedar lamps that I turned awhile back. I call it a weathered edge bowl. It is 6" in diameter and 3" high. The finish is boiled linseed oil, shellac base sanding sealer and several coats a shellac.

Another scrap wood turning. This is a live edge bowl from apple wood. This piece has been lying in the shop for about two years, it was a piece where two limbs came off the trunk, to forming a fork, which made it end grain turning and more sanding. It is 4 ¾” in diameter and 3 ¼” high and finish with boil linseed oil, sanding sealer, shellac, and polishing paste. One photo will not show all details of this bowl, so you get four.

Edited: This is one of four pieces that I turned this week out of scraps and cutoffs. I will post photo of them when the finish dries.
