Eastern Connecticut is filled with small town Christmas charm. The real magic however, is in Mystic. The holidays in Mystic are a mix of tradition, celebration, and community. The “kickoff” is Santa arriving by Cross Island Ferry’s tugboat in Downtown Mystic. Followed by the Tree Lighting, and a fabulous Lighted Boat Parade.

Take a journey through time at Mystic Seaport Museum’s Lantern Light Village. Take a short ride to the Mystic Aquarium’s Home for the Holidays event. Then head over to Stonington Borough to see the Lobster Trap Tree.

If you spend any amount of time in this historic shipbuilding village at the mouth of the Mystic River, you will be convinced this is the quintessential coastal New England town. Mystic is arguably the most popular of the many coastal towns in CT. Besides its beautiful scenery and historic setting, there are so many things to do. Mystic is so very special during the holidays. You can visit the Lantern Light Village at the , or the 2nd Annual Home for the Holidays - Lights Extravaganza at the . Of course there is always the Arrival of Santa by Tugboat, Tree Lighting, and Lighted Boat Parade on November 30th. The shops and restaurants in the Historic Downtown area, are all festively decorated. This is truly the location for kids of ALL ages.
