If you are traveling with kids (or even just adults), I highly recommend splurging on a class of travel higher than you normally fly on your longest flight especially when it is west to east. Why? Everyone can get some sleep, arriving feeling a little bit better than without sleep. On a budget? Concentrate your flyer miles on the first leg. It’s well worth it!

Throwback Thursday Travel Edition!
Here I am with my main squeeze in the Vatican, a country within the city of Rome. We visited during the days after Christmas, enjoyed New Year's Eve in Rome and then trained out to Sienna. I highly recommend Rome in the off-seasons! We had some lovely private tours and explored the Via Appia on our own.

I've been considering Croatia for years - anyone else? When I go, I'm definitely visiting Plitvice Lakes National Park. I hear that purchasing the 2-day ticket and really taking your time is a MUST! It's a UNESCO site, halfway between Zagreb and Zadar on the coast. I would love to hear more about it - comment if you've been.
