Just a reminder to please have any donations dropped off at Cape Fearless Extreme by noon Saturday 11/2. We will be leaving before sun up on Sunday morning.

we are extremely grateful for all of the donated items and funds that have come in (and continue to come in) for our next trip out to Western North Carolina. As always, the needs list is a constantly changing thing. Aside from what I currently have received, blankets are no longer needed. The current list:

Propane Heaters
Propane 1lb and larger tanks (full please)
Adapter hoses/fuel filter to use larger sized tanks on buddy heaters
Sleeping bags
Camp Stoves (Propane NOT Butane)
Dehumidifiers
DAMP RID (!!!)
Fans
2 in 1 co2/smoke detectors

Please folks, this is FAR from over for the people affected! I know some of you are tired of seeing these posts or hearing about it, but the need is still very real!

If you have any of the needed items to donate or if you would like to contribute financially, every little bit helps! Financial donations go directly toward heaters and fuel for them, so far we were able to drop ship 18 heaters with adapter hoses/fuel filters, and we have more that we'll be taking with us.

Please have all donations to us no later than noon on Saturday Nov 2nd please!

Cape Fearless Extreme, an aerial adventure park located just 30 minutes from Wilmington, is seeking enthusiastic Aerial Adventure Guides to join our team. As an Aerial Adventure Guide, you will lead groups of individuals through our aerial adventure park and activities, providing memorable experiences in nature. Training will consist of rescue procedures, base operations, guiding skills, course maintenance and facility operations.

All selected participants must meet the following requirements:

• At least 16 years of age on the first day of training

• Be available to work rotating weekend schedules and MUST have at least one or two weekdays available per week.

• This is an excellent opportunity for a college student who has classes later in the afternoon or a stay at home parent, as most of our weekday groups start at 930am and are done by 230pm.

• MUST have reliable transportation.

• Availability during holiday periods is a big plus!

• Must be comfortable with heights in excess of 40 feet

• Comfortable with working outdoors for extended periods of time

• In person interviews will be conducted starting 08/19/2024

• Guide training is approximately 4 days long

• Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, crawl, run, climb, skip, trot, roll, and/or saunter in excess of eight hours, basically you have to be active, fun, cool and have a lot of self confidence!

• “Can Do” personality who genuinely likes to interact with peers, has a good sense of humor and enjoys meeting new people.

• MUST be available for training on all of the following weekend dates 09/07, 09/08 and 09/14, 09/15.

Experience:

No experience necessary as training is provided, however we are seeking individuals with strong communication skills. Participants who successfully complete training will be eligible for employment opportunities beginning as soon as September

We have been having a great time with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office Safe Summer camp

Our SRO unit has been working hard to ensure our Safe Summer campers have a fun and safe time! 🌞 This is week 2 of camp and the last week with our amazing 4th-5th graders. So far, they've enjoyed meeting the New Hanover County Fire Rescue, visiting White Lake, and tackling Cape Fearless Extreme's Rope Course! Everyone - campers, counselors, and their SROs - has had an incredible time so far!
