It's been a few days of AMAZING swimming in Paris! If you haven't been watching, Katie Ledecky has cemented her dominance in the sport of swimming by winning the most medals by any female swimmer ever with her win in the 1500m free and her 4x200 relay today. There have been many medals won in the pool already, including a pair of Silver medals by Regan Smith, a Lakeville MN native!

At the local level, swimmers with the River Falls Swim Club have been competing over the last three weekends at State and National championship meets, and bringing home some hardware as well. Hunter (pictured) brought home a 2nd and 2 5th place finishes this last weekend at the 10&Under championships held down in Rochester!

If your child has been enjoying and loving seeing the great swims and success in the pool during the Olympics, we invite you to check out your local swim club! RFSC practices out of the River Falls High School, and we have programs that run year round in swim lessons and competitive swimming! We have a spot in the pool for everyone, and we would love to work with you and your children on building a great life skill and learning a fun and exciting sport!

Our fall sessions start on September 3rd, and we have new swimmer evaluations on August 20 & 21 for anyone interested! You can contact our head coach at [email protected] to get started, or you can check out our website at https://www.gomotionapp.com/team/wirfsc/page/home for more information!

Yesterday, we hosted the Swim-A-Thon. Our swimmers put in hard work, over 2 hours, to swim up to 100 laps (200 pool lengths). Following the Swim-A-Thon, we gathered for a cookout with brats, hotdogs, chips, vegetables, fruit salad, and many delicious desserts. To close out the evening, we watched a movie in the pool, jumped off the diving board, and played games in the pool. Thank you to all families for the great event and a wonderful evening!

River Falls Swim Club is excited to announce the addition of a United States Masters Swimming Program! Starting April 16th: 4 days a week, Monday-Thursday from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the River Falls High School Pool.

The Master’s swim program is for adults 18 and older interested in swimming either competitively, recreationally, or educationally. If you were a competitive swimmer and would like to get back into the sport, we are open to you. If you are just learning how to swim and want to become a more competent, efficient swimmer, we welcome you. If you are a triathlete and want to enhance your swimming, come join us!

What is Masters Swimming? U.S. Masters Swimming is a national membership nonprofit that provides membership benefits to nearly 60,000 Masters swimmers across the country. RFSC USMS provides a structured training environment for all skills and goals. Our program is coached by USA Swimming and US Masters Swimming certified coaches. Practices are broken down by skillset and overall training objectives. We have programs that are dedicated to Competitive Swimming, Triathlon/Open Water, and Recreational health & exercise.

The word “Masters” sounds intimidating. Do I have to be an expert? In swimming, Masters simply means 18 & older. You don’t need any experience or prior swimming to join the program! What if I don’t think I’m fast enough? Masters coaches and swimmers don’t care how fast you are. In every program, there are others of similar ability or those who started where you are and have improved.

How much does it cost? RFSC Masters runs from April 15- June 10th and is $135.00. USMS registration is $70, and is an annual registration fee.

Our dedicated coaching staff wants to get to know you and your goals, and will work with each swimmer individually to maximize your workouts and achieve your goals in the best way possible. Email Coach Michael at [email protected] for more information or to register and we will see you at the pool!

Miles was also able to secure a “Bronze” Minnesota Achievement Time Standard in the 100 freestyle, where he shed 9.32 seconds off his previous PR. He eliminated a combined total of 1 minute and 5.36 seconds off his four events this past weekend. It's great to see Miles back to competing in the pool this past weekend!
