The Associated Students Program Board provides quality campus entertainment to the UC Riverside campus & community. aspb.ucr.edu

On January 13, 1987 the Associated Students Program Board Constitution and By-laws were ratified. Since then ASPB has been providing quality campus entertainment for the UC Riverside campus. Through the divisions of Concerts, Films & Lectures, Special Events, Cultural Events, and Marketing, ASPB has provided current musical acts, social issues, art and trends of the time. All of the events put on

by ASPB are student-conceptualized, student-produced, and student-run. There are 19 board members who work through out summer and the academic year to bring the students of UC Riverside a variety of events for them to enjoy throughout the year. To Our Student Body,

As a proud student-run and student funded organization, our ability to bring entertainment to campus would not be possible without you all. Every year as we reimagine our events, we aim to consciously spend student funds by prioritizing those that have positive attendance and feedback from our students. In doing so, we have come to the tough decision of removing our Fall and Winter concerts, Homecoming Odyssey and Winter Soulstice, from the event roster. We realize these events are beloved by many members of the UCR community, and fully intend on incorporating the individual spirit of these events in our future programming, small scale and large scale. Though it is a bittersweet goodbye to events that have gone on for over a decade, we will create new traditions, and invest in the experiences our student body knows and loves. We hope you all will continue to enjoy the experience with us, and on our end, we will continue to program for you all under our ASPB philosophy: “For the Students, By the Students.”

Dear Highlanders, thank you all so much for coming out to this year’s Spring Splash. Our goal at ASPB continues to be to Enjoy, Enhance, and Entertain our student body, but to do this we must maintain a safe concert-going experience. Unfortunately, due to increasing safety concerns for our attendees, ASPB and UCR professional staff came to the difficult decision to end tonight’s festival early.

Moving forward, we hope we can come together as a community to support key values of respect and compassion so we can all enjoy a safe and enjoyable concert experience.

This week’s Quarter for a Cause event will be focused around “Where Will We Grow?” and how everyone flourishes in different ways. Join us at the ASPB Office (HUB 111) on Tuesday, May 14th from 12pm to 2pm for fun activities, small plant pots, and seeds.

As part of your Spring Splash registration, all students must complete our Pre-Concert safety module, intended to bring awareness to the dangers of alcohol and drugs. We ask that you make the promise as a Highlander to engage in healthy and consensual experiences, and refrain from any behaviors that can harm you or the people around you. If you think someone needs help, intervene―Don’t be a bystander, Be a Highlander!

ASPB is working diligently with UCPD and our security team to promote safety for all of our events. We want our annual end-of-the-year kickoff to be as enjoyable and comfortable for everyone as possible and are taking measures to emphasize safety above all else. With that, we’ll see you at Spring Splash! Cheers to a solid way to end the year together!
