age our soil, plants and animals will directly affect the physical and mental health of those who consume the products of our farming choices. In the late 1990s we embarked on a journey to transition our farm to a sustainable multi-species pasture based farming and direct marketing operation. After years of much effort, learning and dedication, our vision was eventually realized as a successful farm-to-consumer food business that thousands of dedicated patrons know as Seven Sons Family Farms. The vocation of bringing food to your table is not just a business to us, but also a personal ministry and responsibility that we take very seriously! Because of the overwhelming support we are now grateful to partner with a small fellowship of carefully selected farmers and artisans that are committed to producing livestock according our specific standards. We invest time to visit and develop trusting relationships with our partnering farms in order to ensure the quality and integrity of our products. It is also our desire to provide any needed mentorship and support to our farms as we seek to build a likeminded community of producers that share a common goal of enriching their lands through sustainable farming practices that result in wholesome nutrient-dense foods. Happy Birthday to Bruce (6th son)!

Bruce started out in the world of poultry alongside his brother Brice and now spearheads the daily operations on our vibrant 500-acre farm in Roanoke, IN. With his incredible team, Bruce is constantly innovating farm systems, aiming to create a blueprint for our farm partners to thrive!

In 2019, Bruce tied the knot with Alyssa and outside work, he cherishes moments with his wife and their three amazing kids, Arthur, Penny, & Walter. Though farming holds a special place in Bruce’s heart, the desire he has to lead his family ever closer to Christ supersedes any farm role!

He’s always exploring new ideas to enhance operations and loves diving into learning opportunities. Not only does he love to learn, but he also has the desire to teach and educate those around him and has been a role model to many over the years. His light-hearted yet commanding demeanor makes him a likable character to anyone he meets. Bruce is a man of many talents and aims to excel in just about anything he does. His versatility and ability to problem-solve make him an unstoppable force for any task.

When he’s not working hard, you might catch Bruce indulging in his interests which include, traveling with his family, spending time out on the Great Lakes, delving into literature, or watching his beloved movie trilogy, Lord of the Rings!

We are grateful for what Bruce brings to the family and to the team and we look forward to a bright future!

We are happy to announce that Brice (3rd son) married his sweetheart, Tabitha!

The two were wed Wednesday, December 4th. Though it was a cold, blustery day, the amount of love that these two have for each other warmed all of our hearts. 🤎

We are giving them all the well wishes & all of our prayers as they begin their life together!
Congratulations, Brice & Tabitha Hitzfield!

Come into the kitchen with Alyssa Hitzfield as she makes homemade Beef Bone Broth. Alyssa is married to Bruce (the 6th son), and together they have 3 adorable kiddos.

Alyssa does a beautiful job explaining not just HOW to make Bone Broth but also WHY it's important to source bones from a farm that is pesticide, herbicide, synthetic fertilizer, glyphosate, hormone, and antibiotic-free.

(Like Seven Sons Farms 😄)

Lastly, if you like what you see, we're featuring up to 22% off a variety of Bones and pre-made Broths through November 30th as part of our Comfort Foods Sale:

Bruce & Spencer had the privilege of hosting these incredible chefs from France today! 🇫🇷

They are here in Indiana competing in the World Food Championships that is being hosted in Indianapolis! Last year their team actually won the World Burger Champions! 🍔

Their team reached out to us in hopes of using and promoting product from local farms in the competition and we were more than happy to oblige.

It was so nice being able to meet these awesome chefs and they were thrilled to learn about what we do here on the farm!
We won’t hesitate to reach out to them if ever we find ourselves in their neck of the woods. 😉

We sent them on their way with some of our meat and merchandise and we wish them the very best in the competition! 👩‍🍳 👨‍🍳

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO NUMBER 7. Brandt may be the youngest, but he has quickly caught up to his older brothers and now leads our entire operations department. Which is a ton of responsibility (logistics, fulfillment, quality control, etc).

Brandt is also our chart man and creates some of the wildest spreadsheets and systems only he can manage - But somehow it works...And it works well! 😅

We have really valued having sheep on the farm these last few years. They have added a complete and picturesque feeling to our home farm. And not just for us - many times I have seen cars stop on the side of the road to take in the view of hundreds of sheep grazing out on pasture. It truly is a sight to see!

Did you know that our lamb products are 100% grass-fed AND grass-finished? We believe in quality and raising animals how God intended. You won’t find any of the bad stuff in our meat!
