(1)

This charming, cozy but spacious home offers a base for hiking, biking, skiing, x-country, snowshoeing, fly-fishing, kayaking, tubing, swimming and more. And for those who just need a break, a stunning and peaceful spot for walks, hammock time, cooking, or just taking in the view. A delightful getaway for couples, but large (>1800 sq ft) and kid-friendly enough for 2 families -- the home has been

renovated and outfitted with both in mind. We have worked to retain the wonderful character of this 1810 farmhouse -- the first home built in the "Hollows" -- while making some key updates for comfort and convenience. A vibrant, comfortable living room hosts a piano, abundant books, games, puzzles, bluetooth speaker, and a turn table. Dust off your vinyl bring it North! The dining room table seats 8, with an additional table for overflow. The kitchen is newly updated and very well-equipped. One large bathroom downstairs and 2 smaller ones on the second floor. A delightful screen porch for morning coffee, afternoon naps, and romantic dining. In the barn, a gameroom offers ping-pong and foosball during the milder months. The 3 acre property hosts a year-round stream (with little native trout), a small swimming/skating pond, abundant wildlife and nesting birds, paths that meander through wildflower meadows, and dazzling sunsets over the Green Mountains. With Killington 30 minutes to the South, Sugarbush 25 minutes to the North, and Middlebury Snowbowl 20 minutes West, this is a prime location for downhill skiiers. And for cross-country skiiers and snowshoers, there is a beautiful loop trail just 1/2 mile away, as well as groomed trails in the Green Mountains, a short drive from the house. The area is popular with cyclists of all stripes. A long-time road- and mountain-biking destination, it is also gaining a reputation for its "gravel" (dirt-road) biking. The nearby White River offers tubing adventures and pristine swimming holes. And hiking abounds, right from the door and from trails in the Green Mountain National Forest, just 10 minutes down the road. Just down the road is charming Rochester village with its excellent food and cultural activities. Available for your use are:

* 4 bicycles, one each suitable for ages 5-7, 8-10, 10-12, and adult.

* River tubes for 6 people (2 tandem, 2 singles).

* Assorted cross-country skis.
