Last week I was in Italy, so will post a few photos with explanations over the next few days. Let's start with getting there. It is a long trip from Charlotte to Cattolica, Italy, so as I age I have decided to make it as enjoyable (traveling to and from never is) as possible. First I opt for the best airline (in my opinion) to get me there, Lufthansa. Second, the best service, and again it is Lufthansa business class. And, finally, the wonderful Ferretti Hotel Kursaal, my Italian home away from home.

Wout van Aert is not expected to ride the Tour de France in 2024, otherwise he could be in with a chance of winning the first stage. In his absence, who might do well?

Stephen Williams (Israel Premier Tech) won Fleche Wallonne in April. That's a long and hilly race like this one.

If only climbers and GC contenders are left, Tadej Pogacar could be favourite.
