At High Rock Adventures - Nature Rocks! Reservations are required. Our regular Business Hours will be 9am to 5:30pm. When we have tours or we do not have tours scheduled we may not be in the office. Its so beautiful out here, perfect weather for an adventure or nature tour. We are still offering morning and afternoon tours, adventures, and experiences through mid November. We move to just early afternoon tours and adventures during the cooler months. For those who have inquired about booking 2025, those tours and experiences will be available on our website by early November if not sooner. Due to the dry conditions at High Rock and here in the Hocking Hills we will be ending our popular Edible and Medicinal Forest Ecotour for 2024 as many of the edible and medicinal plants are finished a bit early for 2024. We can always find things all year round, but the best season is typically April-September. This year the last day for this awesome educational tour will finish on Sunday, September 01st. We will start again April of 2025. All other tours will continue through late fall and then during the winter months we have a more limited schedule but still offer 3 of our awesome Tours, our super cool Escape Room, and our incredible Rock Shop. Hope to see you all this late summer and throughout 2024. 😍🤩 🌿🍁🍂

But we get so many guests, from near and far, and all of them traveled to us, maybe not that far, but almost all outside their comfort zone. Its a great reminder to seize the day! Step outside your comfort zone. Take that trip. Enjoy that new experience. Meet new people. That's after all, what life's all about. 😍

Rockbridge Nature Preserve is one of over a dozen trails within 10 minutes of our office and home to Ohios Largest Natural Rock Bridge, it is about a 5 minute drive from High Rock. Then take the 15 minute drive to Rock House State Park- Ohios ancient cliff dwelling cave, be sure to check out Jack Pine Studio only 5 minutes from the Rock House. Then the 15 minute drive back to US 33 stopping at Revolution Rockbridge - RXR Winery for some of the most delicous and unique wine youve ever had. If you still have the energy and want one more challenge stop and enjoy our new Attic Adventure at High Rock Escapes just 4 minutes from RXR before going home or to your cabin for the night. That's a busy but awesome day and you have avoided the crowds at Old Mans Cave, Ash Cave...have an awesome adventure in the Hocking Hills and only see a few people. Rock House can be substituted easily with Cantwell Cliffs also in the Rockbridge area or go to both if you want more hiking, they are typically less visited. 🙌💚

People sometimes ask us what is Forest Bathing-Nature Therapy? Its hard to describe...its just being and making deeper connections with nature. 💚 Your guide is there to well, gently guide you through the invitations with trees, water, soil, rocks, the elements...It can be one of the most relaxing, rejuvenating, and spirit uplifting events you've maybe had in a long time. We took the training during covid and it was incredible, it still is. Here is just a brief taste of part of this mornings experience...definitely turn on your sound, watch it full screen and take a few deep breaths...✨️💕

Here is a short video of Beech Blight Aphids doing their signature dance, they have the nickname of the boogie woogie bug for a reason. 🤣 Evidently, its a movement that is supposed to distract predators. They do this by shaking their abdomens in the air and secreting a wax substance. They do feed off of the tree sap from the beech tree. Their dance is kinda weird and gives a somewhat menacing appearance; however, they are almost always harmless to the trees overall health and just provide a little extra entertainment while on a hike in our forests. 🕺💃🩰

Our Story

At High Rock Adventures-Hocking Hills Ecotours - Nature Rocks!

We opened our amazing property in 2016, founded by an Ecotourism leader and teacher, who taught for many years at a regional college, after being a guide and tourism manager earlier in life. The idea is and was, let’s provide a place where people can have fun exploring nature sustainably with a guide to show them many of the wonders of the Hocking Hills and our unique and vibrant Ecosystem.

We currently offer two different Ecotours, one a nature tour with an awesome twist include a few rock challenges (our Natural High Ecotour), the other a focus on the edible and medicinal plants of Ohio and the Hocking Hills. Additionally we offer our One-of-Kind Rock Challenge Tour that includes 11 challenges from boulding-style climbs and scrambles, to rock squeezes, crawls, skybridges, and traverses. We also offer the very popular Cliff-top Rock Rappelling including a beautiful Rock Canyon and Massive Overhang that allows you to flip upside down near the bottom of the rappel, if you dare. Additionally, we have very cool and unique Rock Climbing for various levels from beginner to advanced. You can also combine any of our tours, add a climb or rappel to a tour, or add a Zipline Tour with our neighbors just two miles away, Hocking Hills Canopy Tours. We also offer full day Climbing and Rappelling Tours on request. We also offer customized tours, private tours, and off-site tours throughout the Hocking Hills.

Reservations are required, we do accept walk-ins based on availability. When we out giving tours or when we do not have tours scheduled, we typically will not be in the office. All tours are available to book online. Most require a 24 or 48 hour notice. If you just found us and want a tour the same day, give us a call or message us here on facebook we check it often. We normally need to know by 10-11am at the latest, for same day tours. Prices range from $60 to $75 for Eco-Nature and Eco-Adventure Tours. Climbing and Rappelling tours from $90, children 15 and under receive a discount. Group and family discounts are offered with numbers as few as 5-6 people. We do strongly suggest having advance reservations on all tours. The entire 2019 season is available to book on our website and group rates are available online as well.
