Get Ready! Beginning at noon (12 p.m. ET) on October 7, 2023, the 6-month window for booking your stay for the April 2024 eclipse begins!
Many of our DNR properties are within the zone of totality, Including Raccoon SRA, where the sun will be completely in the moon’s shadow for 1-4 minutes and it will be dark in mid-afternoon on Monday April 8. Beat the traffic jams that are expected and just spend the whole eclipse weekend with us!
Here are some important details:
• The minimum stay requires BOTH April 7 & 8 to be booked at peak summer rates. (Sunday-Monday.)
• If you plan to camp the entire weekend (Friday, April 5 – Monday April 8 ) you can book beginning at noon (12 p.m. ET) on October 5. Please remember that partial cancellations are not allowed. Only book the dates you need.
• We plan to have water and comfort stations open for the weekend, but that is ultimately weather dependent. It can be sunny and 70 in April, or we could have snow and hard freezes.
• Where should you stay? Find a property in the eclipse pathway at on.IN.gov/eclipse.
Camping reservations can be made online at camp.IN.gov or via the phone at 1-866-622-6746. (Please note that Glendale, J.E. Roush Lake, and Willow Slough Fish and Wildlife Areas along with Clark, Ferdinand, Greene-Sullivan, Jackson-Washington, Martin, Morgan-Monroe, Owen-Putnam, Pike, Salamonie River, and Yellowwood State Forests do not accept reservations, but operate on a first come, first served basis.)
Another total solar eclipse will not occur again in Indiana until 2099, so join us for this once-in-a-lifetime experience at an Indiana DNR campground!
