Parke County Courthouse 📍 Constructed 1879 - 1882 with original cost of $79k.

Fun fact: The courthouse lawn was surrounded by a black iron fence for many years. In 1920, it became unstylish and was removed. Some of the remaining fence is now used at Billie Creek Village.

Magical views at Shades State Park, often called “The Less Popular Little Brother” to Turkey Run State Park. ❄️

If you’re looking for a little more adventure, head to Shades State Park. You’ll find it’s less crowded and still equally beautiful. The two parks are separated by only five miles but see vastly different numbers of visitors.
