With 31 covered bridges, Parke County, Indiana is known as the Covered Bridge Capital of the World. And beginning on the second Friday of October for 10 days, they celebrate those

bridges with the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival. In Mansfield Village, an 1820s roller mill and an 1867 covered bridge make it a must see visit. Bridgeton also has a mill and a covered bridge over the mill pond. You'll also find hundreds of vendors here. Mecca offers handmade crafts, a one-room school, and a 1901 high school. Montezuma is where you'll find arts and crafts, canal tours, and chicken noodle dinners. Rosedale is filled with arts and crafts, antiques and food. In Tangier, you'll find the festival's world famous "buried roast beef." Bridgeton offers many vendors, a covered bridge and grist mill. Bloomingdale is known for the kettle cooking homemade Apple Butter along with meals and vendors. In Rockville, the festival headquarters, you can shop among huge tents of arts and crafts around the 1879 county courthouse. This is also where you'll find guided tours and great country food.
