Our 12 waterfront cabins are located on the Moose River in the Moosehead Lake Region of Maine. Guests have gathered here for over 50 years to relax, rejuvinate and create wonderful memories. All while experiencing the serenity of the surrounding woods, waters and mountains.

We have had the joy of hosting many first time guests this season. To help them reach their final destination with ease, day or night, each cabin now has its own street address. You will see four new reflective signs marking each of our four entrances to the property. Google has been updated 🌎

Fall is a busy time for us, both at the camps and in community involvement. After 15 years leading the Blue Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club, Steve has shifted his energy toward multi-use trail maintenance and development through Maine’s ATV grant program.

For the past 13 years, Amy has led Friends of the Mountain, a non-profit with a 1,200 acre lease agreement of our local ski mountain, Big Moose/Big Squaw. Our journalism friend Adrienne Perron sat down with us for a recent story in Down East Magazine.

We will be spending more time in the woods and at the mountain and felt sharing the backstory would help explain our distractions from camp life. We do what we can to make Moosehead a better place. Thank you Adrienne for the feature of a place that means so much to us and the community.

The mountain is still currently for sale awaiting a new owner.

Congratulations to all of the 2024 moose permittees. This is a 51” 848 pound bull harvested by our brother in law Darcy. The zone 8 hunt is underway. Follow Bishops Store for more trophies that are being tagged this week in Jackman. 🫎

Labor Day 2024. It’s true what they say. If you love what you do, you never work a day. Even still, it was so nice to have this uninterrupted time with our boys. This is what long weekends provide and we are so grateful.

A few of you noticed how quiet it has been around our house without our boys running around. They are both not only driving, but working full time jobs.

Aaden, 19, is in his second year learning a trade with Sargent Construction. You can see him and his crew along 295 in Portland working on the Back Cove South Project. Sargent trucks can be spotted all up and down the Atlantic Coast and locally here at the East Outlet Dam this summer & fall.

Eli, 17, is in his second year working as a lifegaurd for the Town of Greenville and teaches snowboard lessons at the ski area in the winter. If you hear electric guitar coming from our house after hours, that is him too. Eli will graduate high school in 2025. We miss them when they are away, but are so proud that they are out there getting it done.

We helped bring more colorful seating to the Kineo Dock in Rockwood today. Thank you Moosehead Lake Vacation & Sportsman’s Association and Indian Hill Trading Post at Moosehead Lake for funding this nice addition. Have you sat here? Which chair is your favorite??

Canadian wildfires have brought a haze to the lake this week. It has made for some out of this world looking sunrises and sunsets.

A cloudy day activity that Steve & I enjoy is a short trip over the border to Quebec. @70 miles from camp, St Georges is the closest city, just over an hour away. The city is very pedestrian friendly with larger than life sculptures along the city’s waterfront walking and biking trails. Also an impressive culinary selection. We sampled the salmon tartar and the filet mignon poutine. No, passports are NOT required. Valid ID/birth certificates for minors will get you there and back.
