How about some reviews. Tax season is moving right along. Still biggest problem is taxpayers not sure they got the recovery rebate credit.

Well we have
Another tax season behind us, except for those who filled extensions. They will be due October 15th. Next years (2020) tax programs will be released in October. I am looking now to see what changes will be made. Any questions just call me at 417 260 4061. I also do bookkeeping year round.

I have been reading up on all the new things in the coming tax year. Child Tax Credit is 500.00 per dependent and the child must live with taxpayer. Now you can also claim older child, parent, cousin etc , but they MUST live with taxpayer all year long. Earned Income Credit. Income on this is average 2445.00.
If family members all work in the same business, such as husband and wife, they can split the income between them as long as they both file separate Schedule C or F. That way both are paying into social security instead of just one.
If you employ your minor child who is under 18, you can pay them for helping with work and you do not have to pay social security or medicare on them and you can deduct it on your taxes. They just need to file a W-4 and you file a 1099 on them.
If your own a business or farm it is required by IRS ruling that you keep a written record of income and expenses. It may be electronic or hand written as long as their is proof of income and expenses.
See you next time with more information of the coming years taxes.

Besides doing income taxes of all kinds. I also do bookkeeping for businesses and do a lot of filing quarter forms for individuals as well as for truckers. Like filling out the IFTA, UCR, IRP licenses and any forms that needs to be filed out. If you are in needs of any of this, just give me a call. Rates are very reasonable.

Haven't been on here for a few days been busy doing several sets of books. 2019 Tax time is approaching very fast and I am trying to get everything caught up to be ready for it. Just a reminder, if you are sending out 1099 Misc. then they are due by the end of January, just like the W2's. 1099 Misc. should be sent to anyone who paid $599.00 for service, labor, etc.
Have a great day everyone.

The form 1040 for 2019 will look a lot different than it did in 2018. Much improved. Medical deduction which was reduced to 7.5 in 2018 is back up to 10 for 2019. Starting in 2019 alimony will no longer be deductible to the payer and is no longer taxable to the payee. There are some changes to the retirement contribution limits for 2019, so be sure and check them out. If you owe taxes and do not file quarterly estimate taxes then be aware that IRS will be looking a little closer to them. Failing to file your taxes on time, could result in penalties, fees and other inconveniences. Just a few times for the coming tax season.
Have a great day.

Hi, Here's the business taxes for 2019. standard miles rate for business driving rises to .58 a mile; medical travel & military moves will be .20 per miles; charitable driving rate will stay the same as 2018 at .14 per miles.
These are some of changes for the coming year, there will be more to come from IRS, courts and Congress. Lets just hope all the changes are for the good.
See you next time as update through.

If you have not filed your 2018 taxes, then it is time to get busy, cause next month (October) is the deadline for them.
Also this month is time to renew IRP licenses for the coming year.

Tax Time is getting close. So many new things and some old one too. Sorry to say Obama Care is still with us, but taxpayers will not be penalized this year. That is one good thing. Income tax brackets for 2019 are a little wider than 2018. Standard deductions is up a little. Tax rates on long term capital gains and qualified dividends to not change. Hope to see you at tax time.
