Nancy wanted to go out tonight so we went to our favorite restaurant, The Hollow, in Purdy, WI. near our farm in Romance.
Beer batter perch out of this world. Next time I can't decide yet if it will be cod or walleye, both excellent.

Preparing white oak logs for growing shiitake mushrooms. Cut 10 logs, drilled 500 holes, pounded in 500 plugs with spores on them, waxed over to seal in plugs, stacked outside, and covered with straw. May produce mushrooms in a year or two.

In 2015 we planted 1200 pine trees. Every year since I have replanted the ones that didn't make it. Today I planted 50. My goal is 100%.

We planted 1 year old spruce trees in 2015 and they are starting to take off.

Today on the farm: processing horseradish, venison jerky, and splitting wood.

Hunting is over. Freezer is full. Time to loosen the chains that hold my 9 tree stands to the trees so when they grow the chains have room for expansion.
