I came to St. Barths and fell in love! I had the pleasure of staying at the island’s top hotels this week. It is impossible to pick a favorite they each have their own unique personality. There is no “best” hotel here - it is a question of which is the best match for you.
If the hotels on St Barths were Hollywood actresses, they would be:
Cheval Blanc: Catherine Zeta Jones.
Elegant, Sexy and Refined
What travellers need to know: The beach here has some of the strongest currents on the island and is not really suitable for serious swimming.
Le Barthélemy: Kate Hudson.
Boho chic yet still polished.
What travelers need to know: true feet in the sand luxury. The hotel sits on Grand Cul de Sac Beach - a protected cove - perfect for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding. Your kids can swim here all day long - and their duplex 1BR suites accommodate a family of 5!
Le Toiny: Cate Blanchet.
Glamorous and dramatic.
What travelers need to know: the hotel rooms are built on top of the hillside with sweeping and gorgeous views of the ocean. The beach club is down below and accessed either by adorable Land Rover or steep walk. The rooms at Le Toiny are all suites and none is under 1,000 sq ft.
Le Carl Gustaf: Sara Jessica Parker. Stylish and Cute.
What travelers need to know: A true city kid - Le Carl is the only luxury hotel in Gustavia. Walk to shops and restaurants. There is no hotel pool but many rooms have plunge pools. As a hotel guest sunbeds at Shellona beach club (a short walk from the hotel) are included.
Rosewood Le Guanahani: Julia Roberts. Gorgeous and Classic.
What travelers need to know: Also on Grand Cul de Sac beach - the only hotel with a tennis court on the island. While all the hotels have fabulous spas, the setting of Rosewood’s spa with the amazing adult only pool is unmatched on the island.
