Calling all Bakers! Our Bread-Making Contest, sponsored by Irish Network Atlanta, asks contestants to make their favorite Irish soda bread and bring it to IrishFest on November 9, 2024. There’s also a competition for contestants under 18-years-old.

This year King Arthur Baking Company is partnering with IrishFest to promote this time-honored Irish tradition. Breads will be judged on taste, texture, creativity, and overall appearance. Contestants must also use King Arthur Flour to make their bread.

Judith Johnston McLoughlin, an Irish chef, author, and owner of the Shamrock and Peach Celtic tour company, will judge the competition along with Thomas McKeown, executive chef at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. As part of the celebration of Irish food, Chef McKeown will also host an Irish cooking demonstration on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

☘️🍑 Enjoy these paintings by one of my favorite Irish artists J B Vallely whose work is currently on display. I had the honor of meeting the artist with a tour group (co led with my friend Lillie Hardy Morris ) many years ago, and it was truly one of the greatest experiences to hear the stories behind what inspired the artist!
