We went somewhere new this year.

In time, we’ve realized just how short life can be. How difficult the day to day can be, and how quickly it can all be taken away. We want to live in the moment. Not wait until we’re 65+ and retired. We’re in the making memories with and for our children phase. One day, these little feet won’t be so little anymore and, in fact, won’t be following our every move we make. I know I’ll miss these days.

No matter what phase you are in, I say take the trip. It’s always worth it.

💰🚤🎣 Get ready to reel 'em in!
The $110,000 Hot Springs Fishing Challenge is back, May 1 - July 31 on Lakes Hamilton and Catherine in Hot Springs, Arkansas!

Big Al is the grand prize fish, worth a whopping $20,000, named after Al Capone, who frequented Hot Springs in the days when the city was a haven for gangsters.
65 prize fish will be tagged and released into Lake Hamilton and Lake Catherine by our partners at the Game and Fish Commission’s Andrew Hulsey State Fish Hatchery.

The Hot Springs Fishing Challenge will begin Wednesday, May 1 and run through Wednesday, July 31, with prize fish like Big Al worth $20,000, one fish worth $10,000, four worth $5,000, 40 worth $1,000 and 20 worth $500. 🏷️ Tagged fish will include large-mouth bass, bluegill, red ear sunfish and channel catfish.

☎️ Each prize fish will have a distinctive tag, and those who catch them are reminded not to remove the tag and to call the Visit Hot Springs Fish Phone at the phone number on the tag. The $500 fish will double to $1,000 each during the Game and Fish Commission’s statewide Free Fishing Weekend June 7 - June 9.

During that weekend everyone is invited to go fishing in Arkansas even if they don't have a fishing license. *Participants must have a valid Arkansas Fishing license, unless participating during Free Fishing Weekend, June 7 - 9.
