Just announced! We know you’ve all been asking… Bonito Lake is officially REOPENING at sunrise Friday, August 30th for fishing only.

We are so excited to have this beautiful area open to the public again and know many of you feel similarly.

Please remember the lake is currently only open for fishing. All City of Alamogordo properties along the Rio Bonito and around Bonito Lake remain closed for any recreational activities at this time.

The area has undergone restoration efforts since 2012 when the Little Bear fire and monsoon rains washed debris and gravel into the lake.

We are so sad and heartbroken to have lost our beautiful cabin in magical Ruidoso. Travis and I love Ruidoso and we were so blessed to be able to purchase the cabin we lovingly named Peaceful Pines Cabin.

It was more than a vacation home, it was about the memories made there by families gathering to celebrate the holidays, a young couple getting engaged, a family healing from the loss of a child, couples celebrating milestone anniversaries, or as simple as a couple girlfriends that wanted to relax and unwind. Whatever your reason for going to Ruidoso and staying in our cabin……..thank you! Thank you for all the memories. We love you and hope you’ll continue to support and visit Ruidoso. We certainly will! ❤️

We received word, our cabin is gone. If you have stayed in our cabin, please send me your favorite memory and or photos. I would appreciate it. I told my husband I wish we could have saved the guest book. Thank you all for sharing this beautiful place with us.

Quick update: we were able to evacuate all the horses, now headed back in to get hay. The entire town of ruidoso was evacuated yesterday. Many, many homes have been lost. It's pretty bad. Please pray for our little mountain town and all the brave souls that are working on this fire. The power grid has been shut down and phones are sketchy at best. Watch duty is a good app to follow for updates. There are many structures that people are saying have burned, that have not, but there are just as many that have. We won't know the full extent of the damage for a while. As for now, it is a very active and dangerous situation.
