What an AMAZING Art Festival this weekend!!! It is so bittersweet that this show is coming to an end. We truly cannot believe how amazing everyone that walked through those doors were the last three days. It was truly exactly what we needed, smiles, laughter, well wishes, and most importantly SUPPORT. A “Thank You” is truly not enough for all of those who not just participated but attended the show. THIS is what is all about. Ruidoso is resilient. Ruidoso is still here and needs your support! Thank you a million times to those who came out to the show, it means so much more than you will ever know. ❤️

We’re up at the Cottage this week checking everything out and getting it ready for our next guests visit. We’re grateful that our Cottage was spared (our hearts 💕 go out to all those affected by the fires 🔥 & floods) from the recent fires and floods. We do have some cleanup work to do.

The US National Weather Service Albuquerque New Mexico has issued a Flash Flood Warning for the area until 4:00 PM MDT. This can be a dangerous situation due to the recent wildfires and subsequent debris flows. Please make plans to seek higher ground if necessary.

Hello FB Family & Friends of La Petit Cottage in Ruidoso, NM,

Our charming little Village has faced significant challenges this summer. The South Fork Fire, which began on June 17, 2024, was followed by the monsoon season rains. While these rains helped stop the fire from spreading further into the Village of Ruidoso, they also caused severe flooding. The burn scar and ash prevented the rain from soaking into the ground, leading to additional damage.

This summer has been incredibly tough for our Village. We’ve lost hundreds of homes and, heartbreakingly, two irreplaceable lives. Local businesses that provide food, clothing, and shelter were also severely impacted by the flooding. But despite these hardships, our Village and the surrounding communities of Mescalero, Alto, and Ruidoso Downs remain STRONG and RESILIENT. However, they will need everyone’s help to rebuild and recover in the coming months and years. Please don’t count them out.

To our many guests who have texted and reached out to us, we sincerely appreciate your kindness and support! 🙏♥️ We are grateful to have been spared from both events, and we want you to know that La Petit Cottage is still here to welcome you and share a little bit of the magic that is Ruidoso.
