We just had a last-minute cancellation for this weekend if anyone is interested. Weekend rates are usually over $150 per night, but if you mention this post, I will honor it for $99 per night. Plus fees, taxes, and all that jazz… 😉

Once the game room floor was down, we had to install trim around the wall circulation fans (to bring heat from the other side of the pole barn where the heater is located), and baseboards to help keep the foam floor down (and make it look a bit prettier 😉). Then we started to arrange all the furniture, install fire extinguishers and smoke detectors, and of course, start putting together the 1UpArcades! We’ve got TMNT Turtles In Time, NFL Blitz (both of which are 4 player games), and of course, you can’t have an arcade without Pac Man! And all the games have Live Player mode to compete against other players around the world if desired. Just a few more finishing touches and we can officially allow guests access to use the new Game Room / Theater! And check out those party bulbs 🥳

As we continued our Game Room / Theater project, we had to get some help from Vets A and C Electric to install outlets in the new wall, add an outlet for a giant 75” 4K UHD Roku TV, add light receptacles for some party bulbs, and most importantly we needed to make sure all the original electrical was up to code and passed inspection (which it did 👍🏻). Then we needed Mallard Mechanical to help install a new thermostat for the garage heater on the game room side of the pole barn so guests can control (within reason 😉) the heat flow into that side. And after all that, mud and tape the new wall, paint the whole room and start laying the foam floor. Almost done, stay tuned!

It’s been a long time coming, but we’re almost finished with our new Game Room / Theater in our cabin rental pole barn. To start, we had to move a huge workbench that was bolted to the wall and floor from one side to the other, waterproof the floor, and put up a divider wall. Special thanks to ACJ Construction, LLC for helping with the initial tasks! More pics on progress coming soon.
