Wow what an amazing market day today!!

We know times are hard for folks these days as prices for everything continue to rise. In acknowledgment of that, we wanted to expand the work that our community partners from Rutherford County Cooperative Extension are doing with the Donation Station and donate additional produce to food pantries each week - even when the Donation Station is not running. Thanks to our Dale Young Pantry Fund, we are purchasing and donating much of the excess produce at the end of market to local food pantries. Our other community partner, Ruff'ton Roots Community Garden, is helping us with the coordination and delivery of these fresh, nutritious, locally grown foods to the food pantries in Rutherford County.

If you would like to contribute to this effort, stop by the Donation Station table on June 18th and ask how you can pitch in.

In addition to the food pantry donations, we offer other food assistance programs to our community, including double SNAP/EBT, WIC Vouchers, Senior Vouchers, and Cancer Services Vouchers. Please let us know if you have any questions about these programs by sending us a DM!

Around this time of year we are starting to welcome youngsters to the world, including white tailed deer.

Pictured here is a white-tailed deer and young fawn. Around this time in the spring, mother deer, called does, give birth to fawns. Fawns can walk within minutes of being born. Does are very protective of their offspring and will leave them hidden while they feed. Deer tend to be inactive during the day and are most active at dawn and dusk. It is important to be vigilant while driving during these times.
