These photos show the sun rising behind Cape Neddick (Nubble) Lighthouse Sunday, September 28, 2019. Even though there were clouds in the sky, seeing the sun rise behind the island was a magnificent experience, helped by a cup of hot coffee of course.

Save Maine Lighthouses Today!

If you live in Maine please consider pre-ordering this lighthouse license plate. Just my thoughts here; as many beautiful lighthouses as are located in Maine it will be a shame for this license plate to be unavailable. Do it now, the deadline to make this license plate happen is very soon.

This preservation effort might not happen unless you pre-order your plate before the end of this month.

Someone vandalized iconic Cape Hatteras lighthouse. Do you know who, or what, SEF is?

The that is pictured in the header of this Page, located on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, was recently vandalized. Disappointment doesn't begin to describe how this makes this lighthouse enthusiast feel!

The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse was vandalized, the National Park Service said on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Someone carved letters into the bronze door of the lighthouse.

As you can see by the date, this is an older photo of located on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina. At the time my good friend Frank McIntyre had advised me digital photography wasn't on par with film photography so I was still using film. I remember the day well, going down to get some photos and enjoying a relaxing day visiting the Outer Banks.

Pigeon Point Lighthouse restoration gains new momentum

Seeing any lighthouse in the state of disrepair Pigeon Point Lighthouse is currently is disappointing to me. Hopefully monies will be appropriated by the state of California or raised by a preservation group to move forward on what are desperately needed repairs.

The 1871-era building, crumbling and closed to the public, received support as top state officials met to approve a new general plan for Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park.
