Would agree with these choices. Again have been to most and loved them all though the Cinque Terre is now overrun with tourists and the trails between villages are fee based :( Still, worth a visit...

I have been fortunate to have visited the majority of these islands. It does however look like I need to check out the Philippines-3 of the top 25 from Travel and Leisure’s perspective. So many great destinations out there still-got to get on it!

The best islands in the world, according to Travel + Leisure readers, invite visitors to adopt a slower pace of life.

Have been to a hand full of these outliers. Exciting as now there are a lot more new adventures to pursue. Some of these destinations sound awesome!

Having been on both sides of this issue quite a few times it's a good reminder that it's still possible to be more thoughtful-especially in these times where at least I am not always feeling it-thoughtfulness. Will remember this article on future flights.

It's time for another editors debate.

A short video montage of our recent trip to the island of Madeira, Portugal. Were I your travel planner for this adventure I would want to give you a thorough briefing on the driving conditions on this otherwise fabulous hiking, eating and culturally fascinating destination. Places such as this will insure the wanderlust in many if not most of you. Happy travels!

I assume this is based on a cumulative assessment of Wanderlust over time-20 years in business this month! Business has been a bit tepid these past couple of years...This too will pass!

Generally, my travel posts are something I enjoy putting together and am usually pretty prompt at getting them out. My brief visit to Maui, now a month ago was unique...Flight discomfort to and from, "masks", airport consternation, rental car problems and a stiff unrelenting NE wind on the island proved to make this trip-a challenge. I can honestly say that not a single prior vacation has disappointed me in my entire life's traveling experiences.

That said, were I you and someone who loves to travel as much as I do, I would get on the next plane going just about anywhere. It's time to travel again, just do your homework. It's impossible to control the weather but there are better times of the year to travel. Follow up in the weeks heading into your trip on the certainty of getting your rental car. Make sure your room isn't near the elevator. Pick your travel companions wisely. Mostly common sense stuff but I got a few revelations on Maui and I have logged quite a few miles through the years in and out of many countries.

And too, you might want to consider a good travel agent-one that's maybe been to where you're going and has some first hand knowledge of the lodging, points of interest and can double check on your rental car availability. Nothing is for certain anymore but 2nd opinions are a good idea, maybe from someone like me who is as passionate about travel as anyone you'll ever meet. Stay healthy and well.

A few good memories from "The Valley Isle".
